Important Points about PSPP

  • It is a statistical analysis tool 
  • It is fast statistical procedures, even on very large data sets.
  • It is open-source and alternative to SPSS
  • It is used for descriptive statistics, T-tests, anova, linear and logistic regression, measures of association, cluster analysis, reliability and factor analysis, non-parametric tests .

Creating a Dataset in PSPP

  • Open PSPP 
  • File-> New-> data
  • Click on variable view in the bottom of the PSPP screen and define variables as per your requirements 
  • Assign Value Labels for your variable if required (for Ex. for a Gender Column you can assign '1' for Female and '2' for 'Male'

  • Switch to data view  in the bottom of the PSPP and enter data   
  • Save your dataset (File-> Save)
